Students who come into my business calculus class the first day of the semester find that I am adamant about the oft-repeated canard that "calculus is hard."
No way! Calculus is simple.
If you want to see what hard calculus is, I tell them, "Look at this picture: http://www.seattle-dentist.com/images/ultrasonic-prophy-1.jpg. Now THAT's hard calculus. We're going to study calculus that is not hard."
